Epidemiological situation regarding respiratory infections

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, approximately 13 thousand cases were registered in the week from March 30 to April 5, 2026. The indicators correspond to the level of morbidity at the end of October 2025. As part of the monitoring of pathogens of ARVI, about 12 thousand people were examined in a week. The share of influenza viruses in overall circulation was 24.5%, and rhinoviruses, adenoviruses, bocaviruses, metapneumoviruses, RSV viruses, seasonal coronaviruses, and parainfluenza were also isolated. Among influenza viruses, A(H3N2) predominates. As of April 9, 2026, the educational process has been partially suspended in 3% of educational institutions in the region (kindergartens and schools). The educational process has been completely suspended in 2 kindergartens. Educational institutions continue to require compliance with sanitary and anti-epidemic (preventive) measures: disinfection regime according to the "viral" mode, "morning filter," operation mode of bactericidal irradiators, and ventilation. The Rospotrebnadzor management urges parents not to send children with signs of respiratory infections to organized children's groups (schools, kindergartens, etc.), and to limit visits to public places by people who are not vaccinated against influenza. Epidemiologists remind citizens of ARVI prevention measures:

      - regularly and thoroughly wash hands with soap or use an alcohol-based sanitizer

      - avoid touching your face

      - avoid contact with sick individuals

      - maintain social distance in crowded places

      - lead a healthy lifestyle

      - stay home if any signs of illness appear, seek medical help
