The former head of the traffic police in Lyskov was stripped of 2.6 million rubles for a BMW.
On April 9, 2026, at 08:08, Incidents The court considered the lawsuit of the prosecutor of the Lyskovsky district against the former head of the district traffic police department, Vladimir Marakulin, his sister, and her husband. The supervisory authority demanded to transfer 2.6 million rubles to the state. As a result, the prosecutor's demands were fully satisfied. In March, Marakulin was found guilty of exceeding his official powers (he assisted representatives of national diasporas in evading responsibility for traffic violations). During the investigation, it was revealed that he purchased a BMW X6 XDrive, the cost of which significantly exceeded his official income. Later, the car was re-registered to the sister of the former police officer under a sales contract. However, in fact, Marakulin continued to use the vehicle himself. The court noted that when comparing the legal income of the former police officer and the price of the German car, there was an obvious disproportion between earnings and expenses. Moreover, the total income of his sister's family over the three years preceding the purchase was significantly lower than the cost of the car. As a result, the court ruled to recover from Marakulin and his relatives an amount equivalent to the price of the BMW X6 XDrive in favor of the state. The decision has not yet entered into legal force. Footage of the detention of Vladimir Marakulin, shared by the Nizhny Novgorod FSB, can be viewed here. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
