Ice drift on the Oka River began on March 29, which fully corresponds to the average long-term indicators. To ensure the safety of residents, city services have been conducting regular patrols on the waters of the Oka River, Lake Svyatoe, and the Vyunitsa River bed since the beginning of March. GIMS inspectors conduct explanatory talks about the rules of behavior on ice and during the flood period. Currently, patrols are working from the shore, and with the opening of navigation, two patrol boats will join the monitoring. All hydraulic structures that provide protection for urban areas have undergone technical inspection and are in good condition. After the flood period, the municipality will launch a planned cleaning and disinfection of wells and other sources of decentralized water supply. Homeowners are advised to independently treat cesspools, adjacent territories, and individual wells with disinfecting solutions.
