The GUAD is conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the flooding situation on Nizhny Novgorod roads.

      On April 7, 2026, at 10:29 AM, the Society of the Main Directorate of Automobile Roads of the Nizhny Novgorod Region is conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the situation regarding the flooding of road infrastructure in the region. Water overflow across the roadway of bridge structures has been recorded in several sections of regional and intermunicipal roads.

      As of April 6, 2026, specialists from the Main Directorate of Automobile Roads have recorded overflows at the following locations: the bridge over the Kudya River at km 12+813 of the access road to the resort village of Zeleny Gorod from the M-7 "Volga" highway in the Kstovo district, where traffic is being diverted to a pedestrian bridge; the bridge over the Linda River at km 2+430 of the Linda – Ostreyevo highway in the Bor district, where road signs have been posted and monitoring is ongoing; a section on the access road to the village of Atazik from the Arya - Tonkino - Sharanga highway at the border of the Mari El Republic in the Uren district, where signs have been posted and monitoring is ongoing.

      There are also mentions of bridges over the Tyosha River at km 4+161 of the Ozerki - Zarechnoye highway, at km 7+338 of the Verigino - Maryevka highway, at km 0+292 of the access road to the village of Bebyayevo - the village of Novoselki from the Nizhny Novgorod – Saratov highway in the Arzamas district, where detours have been organized via the route Shershtino - Kozhino - R-158, and along the Arzamas - Maryevka - Kovaksa highway; about the bridge over the Irest River at km 1+596 of the Diveevo Usad – Natalinka highway in the Pochinkovsky district, where a detour is organized via a dirt road to the village of Vasilevka, and about the access to the village of Arzinka - Madaevo from the Nizhny Novgorod – Saratov highway, where the approaches to the bridge over the Alatyr River (km 17+035) are flooded, and access to the village of Madaevo is provided through the village of Uzhovka.

      In the Gaginsky district, overflows have been recorded at the crossing over the Pyan River at km 0+981 of the access road to the village of Vorontsovo - the village of Nikolskoye from the Buturlino - Suradeevo - Gagino highway; at the reinforced concrete low-water bridge over the Pyan River at km 0+891 of the Yureyevo – Mishukovo highway, where signs have been posted and monitoring is ongoing.

      In the Sergachsky district, there is mention of the bridge over the Pyan River at km 9+433 of the access road to the Tartaley - Yanovo railway station from the Rabotki – Poretskoye highway. A detour has been organized via the Sergach - Gagino highway.

      In the Sokolsky district, an overflow has been recorded on the Dorofeevo - Gavrilovka highway near the village of Olovyagino, where the embankment near the emergency bridge has been washed away. A detour has been organized via the Gorodets - Kovernino highway.

      Motorists are urged to plan their trips in advance, taking into account the current restrictions, and not to attempt to cross overflows on closed sections. This is dangerous for life and can lead to damage to vehicles and the roadway.
