      April 8, 2026 09:38 Politics The procedure for preliminary voting is taking place ahead of the September 2026 elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      The application to participate in the procedure was submitted by the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Vyacheslav Aksinyin. The parliamentarian has extensive political experience. From 1990 to 1993, he was a deputy of the Gorky City Council of People's Deputies, from 2010 to 2015 — a deputy of the Nizhny Novgorod Duma, and since 2016 — a deputy of the regional Legislative Assembly. He is running for preliminary voting on the list of the "United Russia" party in territorial group No. 20, which includes the Vorotynsky urban district and the municipalities of Krasnooktyabrsky, Lyskovsky, Pilninsky, Sechenovsky, and Spassky.

      "I have already been a deputy of the Legislative Assembly for two terms and have decided to run for a third. Residents of the southeastern districts of our region have asked me to agree to run for the next term. The plans are certainly ambitious. A lot has already been done, but now we are paying special attention to the improvement of the districts. New schools are being built in Lyskov; together with Valery Alexandrovich Antipov, we will keep this project under control to eliminate the second shift in the city of Lyskov. This is one of our main tasks," noted Vyacheslav Aksinyin.

      Also among the candidates who submitted documents to participate in the procedure is the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, head of the regional parliament's apparatus, Maxim Rebrov. He is participating in the preliminary voting for electoral district No. 7 of the Nizhny Novgorod region of Nizhny Novgorod.

      "A truly significant result only becomes meaningful when all participants in the process are interested in it. That is why it is so important today not just to consult with people, but to work on projects together, involving active residents of Nizhny Novgorod in the implementation of regional tasks. Having worked for many years in the executive and legislative branches, I know that behind this message are not just words, but solutions to real problems that primarily concern our citizens. I am ready to continue working actively in close cooperation with people to bring ongoing projects to completion and continue to develop our region," emphasized Maxim Rebrov.

      An application for preliminary voting by "United Russia" on the list in territorial group No. 7 of the Nizhny Novgorod region of Nizhny Novgorod was submitted by the director of the Lomonosov school, Galina Klochkovа.

      "The key advantage of the Legislative Assembly is the experts from various fields. Laws in the field of education and any systemic changes require a professional perspective from the legislator to see how the norms interact with each other. Our task is to change them in a way that harmonizes rather than complicates the system. Therefore, it is fundamentally important for me, using the right of legislative initiative, to start systematic work at the level of the regional parliament," she shared.

      Citizens of the Russian Federation over 21 years old, registered in the region, can submit documents to participate in the selection. For veterans of the special military operation who participated in the preliminary voting, an additional 25% is provided this year to the results.

      All registered voters in the Nizhny Novgorod region will be able to participate in the voting by authorizing through the "Gosuslugi" portal. The rating system allows voters to cast their votes for several candidates at once. The procedure is conducted using blockchain technology, which ensures transparency and protection from external manipulation.

      Let us remind you that preliminary voting is a unique practice of "United Russia." It is the only party in the country that applies such a selection system. The procedure gives every Russian citizen the opportunity to influence who will represent their interests from the party as a deputy at the local, regional, or federal level.
