A video of a fatal hit-and-run on a pedestrian in Meshchera has emerged.

      On April 4, 2026, at 10:13, Incidents: The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod Region published a video of a fatal collision with a pedestrian in Meshchera.

      Recall that the accident occurred on April 3 at about 10:07 near house No. 44B on Karl Marx Street in the Kanavinsky District. A 27-year-old driver of a cargo vehicle, while exiting an adjacent territory, ran over a person who was crossing the roadway along the line of the sidewalk. As a result of the injuries sustained, the pedestrian died.

      In connection with the traffic accident, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs has initiated a criminal case under part 3 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles." An investigation is currently underway.
