Two Nizhny Novgorod schools in the top 100 leaders of education in Russia

On April 3, 2026, at 11:01, Society Gymnasium No. 2 and School No. 22 in Nizhny Novgorod were included in the national ranking "100 Leading Schools of Education in the Russian Federation – 2026" based on the results of the remote stage of the VIII All-Russian competition "Successful School." Both educational organizations confirmed their status as advanced platforms implementing modern approaches to education, reported Mayor Yuri Shalabaev on social media. Gymnasium No. 2 received high marks for its project on engineering training for children with disabilities. Additionally, artificial intelligence technologies are actively used in the educational process — both in educational and creative activities. According to the mayor, this shows that new technologies do not replace humans but help to unlock their potential. At School No. 22, AI is also used as a learning tool. With the help of neural networks, teachers explain complex topics by engaging "digital characters," create individual assignments and tests tailored to students' preparation levels, and develop educational games. Furthermore, the institution is implementing a project for the integration of AI technologies, within which neural networks help students determine their future profession and build a personal educational trajectory. "The inclusion of Nizhny Novgorod schools in such a prestigious ranking is a logical result of the systematic work, professionalism, and innovation of our teachers and students. Congratulations!" noted Yuri Shalabaev. It is worth mentioning that Roman Smirnov, a chemistry and biology teacher at Nizhny Novgorod School No. 118, won the city stage of the "Teacher of the Year – 2026" competition.
