The mobilization reserve "BARS-NN" has been active for six months: main results.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the results of the first six months of work of the mobilization reserve "BARS-NN" have been summarized. The military commissioner of the region, Sergey Agafonov, spoke about the tasks of forming the unit and the results achieved.

      Let us remind you that the creation of a reserve for the protection of critically important facilities began in October 2025. Initially, the unit was tasked with ensuring the security of one enterprise in the fuel and energy complex, which was regularly subjected to drone attacks.

      According to Agafonov, this task has been fully completed. The number of reservists turned out to be more than sufficient to solve it.

      The list of facilities under protection is gradually expanding. New combat posts are being formed in the region, and the number of personnel is also increasing. Three shifts of territorial defenders have already been created, each of which includes several mobile groups.

      The military commissioner reported that over the past six months, special gatherings and combat duty have been conducted in an organized manner. Reservists demonstrated a high level of training, with recorded cases of drone destruction, while there were no casualties among the personnel. "I consider the main result of the work of the reserve 'BARS-NN' to be the increased protection of enterprises and the safety of our citizens," said Agafonov.

      The military commissioner also noted that reserve participants received awards—certificates and letters of gratitude from the governor of the region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and the military commissariat. Those who distinguished themselves are being recommended for the next military ranks. Some reservists have already completed their gatherings and returned to civilian work.

      Service in the "BARS-NN" unit takes place exclusively in the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region and does not imply deployment to the special military operation zone. Recruitment is conducted on a voluntary basis through military commissariats with a contract signed with the Ministry of Defense of Russia. At the same time, reservists can combine service with their main job.

      During the contract period, participants are provided with monetary compensation, equipment, and uniforms. During gatherings, their jobs and salaries are preserved, and they are provided with insurance, medical assistance, and meals.

      Additional support measures for reservists and their families have been introduced by the decision of Governor Gleb Nikitin. In particular, children are provided with free kindergartens, school meals, access to sports sections and after-school programs, as well as subsidized vouchers to camps and sanatoriums in the region. Families also have the right to priority free medical assistance.
