      The volleyball club "Gorky" suffered a defeat in the first match of the 1/8 finals of the Russian Cup. The Nizhny Novgorod team lost away to "Kuzbass" with a score of 0:3.

      The match took place on April 1 in Kemerovo and ended in three sets — 25:17, 25:22, 25:21 in favor of the home team.

      Players from the youth team appeared on the court for the Nizhny Novgorod team, who had the opportunity to showcase themselves at the main team level.

      The most productive player for "Gorky" was captain Alexander Pyatyrkin, who scored 15 points. He earned all his points in attack, showing a 58% success rate.

      The return match (6+) of the 1/8 finals will take place on April 5 in Nizhny Novgorod.
