March 31, 2026 09:50 Economy Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region spent 3.5 billion rubles on medications in February. This was reported by the editor-in-chief of the medical publication "Statsionar-Press," Alexey Nikонов, on his Telegram channel, citing data from RNC Pharma.
In the last month of winter, pharmacies in the region sold more than 8 million packages of medications. This is slightly less than a year ago. However, in monetary terms, the market grew by 3.8%.
The average price of one conditional package reached 429 rubles, increasing by 13.9% over the year. The average receipt also rose by the same amount — from 742 to 849 rubles.
In February, residents of the region most frequently purchased painkillers and cold remedies. Also among the popular items were medications for liver and gallbladder treatment. A significant increase was shown by the hypoglycemic drug "Tirzetta." The anticoagulant "Xarelto" ranked fourth in the brand ratings for the month.
