Nizhny Novgorod residents were reminded of important legislative changes starting April 1.

These innovations will affect various aspects of life and concern many residents of the region.

      Firstly, there will be an indexing of social pensions. The amount of payments will increase by 6.8%. This increase will affect about 4.3 million Russians, which will help improve their financial situation.

      Secondly, new rules for installment service operations will come into effect. Now, the price of a product when purchased in installments cannot exceed the price when paid in full. Commissions for processing installments and making payments will be prohibited. The maximum term for installments will be 6 months, and the penalty for late payments will not exceed 20% per annum of the debt amount.

      The third important change concerns the issuance of mortgages. The Central Bank has prohibited banks from considering "gray" incomes when assessing borrowers. This is aimed at increasing the transparency and security of mortgage transactions.

      Also, starting April 1, the rules for issuing microloans will change. The maximum overpayment on loans with a term of up to one year will decrease from 130% to 100% of the debt amount. This will help protect borrowers from excessive financial burdens.

      In addition, starting April 1, it will not be possible to purchase certain goods, such as perfumes, colognes, beer, tires, bottled water, and other marked products, if they have not passed the "Honest Sign" system. This is aimed at combating counterfeit products and improving the quality of goods.

      Finally, the first national standard for the improvement of territories for dog owners will come into effect. The standard will establish requirements for the arrangement of play, training, hygiene, and walking areas for dogs.
