      March 27, 2026 11:40 Society The metro stations at Sennaya and Svobody squares in Nizhny Novgorod are planned to be put into operation by August 2027, representatives of the MKU "GUMMiD" reported. Recall that in December 2025, by decision of the commission of the Nizhny Novgorod administration, agreed with the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, changes were made to the municipal contract and the work schedule. The contract's validity was extended until December 25, 2027. At the same time, the contractor must complete the construction and installation work by August 1, 2027. Currently, construction is ongoing at all sites of the new metro stations in the central part of the city. Work is also being carried out in the already completed tunnels on the section from Sennaya to Svobody Square. In the right tunnel towards the extension of the line from the "Park Kultury" station, a rigid foundation for the upper structure of the track has been completed. Specialists have also begun preparing for the installation of engineering equipment. In addition, 75% of the work has already been completed in the starting pit of the metro on Gorky Street.
