Ten years since the establishment of the Rosgvardiya were celebrated in the Volga Federal District.

The event was attended by the presidential envoy of Russia in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin, the governor of the Penza region Oleg Melichenko, representatives of the executive power and law enforcement agencies, deputies, and clergy. Igor Komarov congratulated the personnel of the district, emphasizing that the Rosgvardiya is "an integral and reliable link in the unified state system of ensuring legality and order, protecting the rights and interests of our citizens." He noted that the agency fulfills the tasks set by President Vladimir Putin, including the fight against terrorism and organized crime, maintaining public order and protecting especially important state facilities, as well as controlling the circulation of weapons and private security activities. Gleb Nikitin, addressing the servicemen, stated that today each of them is "writing the modern history of service," demonstrating professionalism and loyalty to the oath. The motto of the Rosgvardiya is "Always on guard!" and he noted their contribution to ensuring security, participation in eliminating the consequences of emergencies, and protecting national interests. The governor expressed special words of gratitude to the veterans of the service.
The commander of the Volga Order of Zhukov district of the National Guard troops of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Sergey Prosyanik, emphasized that the creation of the Rosgvardiya marked a new milestone in the history of law enforcement troops. According to him, today the units participate in ensuring state and public security, including in the reunited territories, as well as perform tasks during the special military operation and maintain law and order in the regions of the Volga Federal District. Since the establishment of the agency, servicemen and employees of the district have been awarded 3,000 state and more than 6,000 departmental awards for courage and heroism. A ceremony of awarding took place at the garrison club. Distinguished servicemen and employees were presented with state and departmental awards, letters of gratitude, and valuable gifts. In addition, Sergey Prosyanik awarded Igor Komarov and Gleb Nikitin with commemorative medals "10 years of Rosgvardiya." Oleg Melichenko was awarded the medal "For Combat Brotherhood" and the commemorative medal "10 years of Rosgvardiya." The solemn events concluded with a festive concert featuring creative groups from the song and dance ensemble and the orchestra of the district headquarters. After the official part, the participants of the ceremony laid flowers at the memorial "In Memory of the Servicemen and Employees of the District Who Died in the Line of Duty."
