The case of the former head of the Nizhny Novgorod RANEPA, Paramonov, has been transferred to court.

The materials with the approved indictment have been sent to the court for consideration on the merits, the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region reported. The former official is accused of receiving large bribes, embezzlement, abuse, and exceeding official powers. Recall that Alexander Paramonov was detained on March 12, 2025. He will remain under house arrest until April 2, 2026, inclusive. According to the investigation, from January 2019 to March 2025, Paramonov, holding a managerial position, acted as part of an organized group. The criminal case against the second participant has been separated into a separate proceeding and has already been sent to court. The investigation believes that for a monetary reward, the smooth enrollment of applicants into the college was ensured, positive grades were assigned without actual attendance at classes, and documents on secondary vocational and higher education were issued without real training. The total amount of bribes received exceeded 1.5 million rubles. In addition, the investigation believes that from February 2023 to March 2025, Paramonov appointed a person to the position of specialist who actually performed the functions of his wife's personal driver. The damage to the educational institution was estimated at more than 3.2 million rubles. A separate episode concerns bonuses for employees. According to the investigation, the accused received 7.9 million rubles from subordinates from funds allocated to him as bonus payments. Also, in 2023, he embezzled 280 thousand rubles allocated for holding a boxing tournament. For this, fictitious documents on the work performed for organizing the sports event were presented. The prosecutor's office approved the indictment and sent the criminal case to the Nizhny Novgorod District Court for consideration on the merits.
