The balcony caught fire in a nine-story building in Nizhny Novgorod — video

      March 24, 2026 15:20 Incidents A fire broke out in a residential building on Timiryazev Street in Nizhny Novgorod. The blaze started on the balcony of an apartment located on the fifth floor of the high-rise building.

      According to the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, there was heavy smoke in the stairwell due to the fire. Rescuers evacuated seven people from the building. Another eight residents were rescued using special masks.

      The area of the fire was 30 square meters. Twenty-five emergency service specialists dealt with the fire.

      As a result of the incident, property on the balconies of the fifth and sixth floors was burned. According to preliminary data, there are no injuries.

      Currently, investigators from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia are working at the scene. They are to determine the cause of the fire.

      Earlier, it was reported that three trucks burned at a freight transport parking lot in Dzerzhinsk.
