The floating bridge over the Oka in Pavlovo is being dismantled due to the rising water level.

      March 24, 2026 14:14 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the movement of vehicles and pedestrians across the floating bridge on the Pavlovo – Tumbotino – Gorokhovets highway is temporarily suspended. The restriction is related to the rising water level in the Oka River during the spring flood. According to the information from the Main Directorate of Automobile Roads of the region, specialists will carry out dismantling work on the crossing on March 24 and 25. During these days, the cargo-passenger ferry will be partially involved in the dismantling of the bridge until the work is completed. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod are advised to plan their routes in advance and, if necessary, choose alternative means of transportation. Furthermore, the pontoon bridge will not operate until the end of June 2026 due to scheduled preventive maintenance work. During this period, transportation will be provided by the ferry crossing, which will operate daily from 05:00 to 21:30. Information about the resumption of traffic on the bridge will be announced later. It is worth noting that 141 settlements and 71 sections of automobile roads may be at risk of flooding.
