Residents of Nizhny Novgorod over 65 are offered free vaccination against pneumococcus.

      On March 24, 2026, at 16:47, the Society of Nizhny Novgorod residents over 65 years old is invited to undergo free vaccination against pneumococcal infection. As reported by the editor-in-chief of MIA "Statsionar-Press," Alexey Nikонов, the polyvalent vaccine "Pneumovax 23" has already arrived in the region and has been distributed to medical institutions. The vaccination is especially recommended for elderly people, as well as those suffering from chronic lung and cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, or who are overweight. The vaccine can be obtained for free at clinics in the place of residence. To clarify whether the vaccine is available at a specific medical institution and whether there are indications for vaccination, one can consult with a preventive medicine doctor or their local therapist.
