Nizhny Novgorod residents were told where to take a tick for examination.

March 24, 2026 09:48 Society The tick activity season has begun in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Specialists have already recorded the first case of tick attachment.

The Rospotrebnadzor reminds: in case of a bite, it is necessary to contact a medical organization as soon as possible with a passport and compulsory health insurance policy — there the tick will be safely removed.

After that, it is recommended to submit the insect for research. This is important because ticks can be carriers of dangerous, including deadly diseases. The analysis allows for timely decisions regarding the need for emergency prevention of tick-borne viral encephalitis and further medical observation.

Research is conducted at the expense of personal funds of citizens. Both live and dead ticks are accepted for analysis. The main thing is to preserve their integrity and deliver them correctly: place them in a jar with damp cotton and store in the refrigerator.
