Alexander Kurdyumov intends to participate in the State Duma elections.

      March 24, 2026 10:07 Politics Alexander Kurdyumov may once again participate in the State Duma elections from the LDPR. This was reported to "Vedomosti" by two sources in the party, and Kurdyumov himself confirmed it.

      Recall that Kurdyumov's powers in the Central Election Commission are expiring. He did not enter the new composition of the CEC and is now preparing for the Duma campaign. The decision on whether he will run from the federal part of the list or from the regional group will be made by the LDPR congress.

      Before moving to the CEC in 2021, Kurdyumov was a State Duma deputy for four convocations (IV, V, VI, and VII). However, after being elected to the State Duma of the fifth convocation, he resigned his deputy powers a year later.

      Currently, Kurdyumov holds the position of first deputy head of the central apparatus of the LDPR for administrative and operational management.

      His possible return to the State Duma is being discussed against the backdrop of the expulsion of several party veterans from the LDPR. In June 2025, the head of the State Duma committee on labor, social policy, and veterans' affairs, Yaroslav Nilov, was expelled from the faction. Last week, the deputy head of the committee on information policy, IT, and communications, Andrey Svintsov, was also expelled from the party.
