A football goal crushed a child in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      March 23, 2026 18:45 Incidents A mini-football goal fell on a child in the Nizhny Novgorod region. A criminal case is being investigated, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region reported.

      According to information, the incident occurred at a sports ground in the village of Glukhovo in the Diveevo district. The conclusion of the forensic examination indicates that the boy suffered moderate harm to his health.

      The investigation holds the head of the territorial department of the municipal district responsible, who failed to ensure the secure installation and safety of the goalposts during their acceptance. He has been charged under part 1 of article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence").

      Recall that in the summer of 2024, football goals at the Nizhny Novgorod yacht club "Leto" crushed an 11-year-old boy to death. In December 2025, the director of the yacht club received a suspended sentence of 3 years and a fine of 300,000 rubles.
