Nizhny Novgorod residents have started receiving notifications about comprehensive cadastral works.

      March 24, 2026 07:00 Society Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region have begun receiving notifications about comprehensive cadastral works. Messages are being sent to property owners via the "Gosuslugi" portal, regional Rosreestr officials reported.

      The notifications indicate that the property is located in a cadastral quarter where such works are planned. These messages are not related to fraudulent activities and are of an official nature.

      Comprehensive cadastral works aim to clarify the boundaries of land plots, the characteristics of buildings, and correct any possible errors in the Unified State Register of Real Estate.

      In 2026, such works will take place in 17 municipalities of the region. It is planned to determine the coordinates of the boundaries of more than 70,000 real estate objects.

      Rosreestr recommends that property owners check the information about their real estate in the EGRN and ensure that all data is correctly stated. Residents are also encouraged to participate in the work of reconciliation commissions, which are created within the administrations of municipalities.

      At such commissions, it is possible to clarify the boundaries of plots, including using the public cadastral map, especially if the boundaries were not previously established or contain inaccuracies.

      The agency emphasizes that participation in the comprehensive cadastral works program allows for boundary clarification free of charge. When turning to private cadastral engineers outside the state program, the costs fall on the owner.

      Deputy Head of the Rosreestr Office for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Ekaterina Golovanova, reminded that new legislative requirements have been in effect since March 1, 2025. According to her, any transactions involving land plots are only possible with established boundaries.

      "From the specified date, transactions (buying and selling, gifting, and any other contractual relationships) with land plots are only possible with established boundaries, in accordance with legislative requirements. It is also possible to register a residential house or other structure on a plot only with clarified boundaries," the expert noted.
