      March 25, 2026 11:33 Society Since the beginning of 2026, 7,800 square meters of road surface damage have been eliminated on federal highways in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the Federal State Institution "Uprdor Moscow — Nizhny Novgorod." The institution clarified that depending on the nature of the defects, cast and hot asphalt concrete, cold asphalt, as well as organo-mineral mixtures are used. Work is being carried out around the clock. The agency explained that road surface damage occurs due to sharp temperature fluctuations during the transitional period from winter to spring, as well as due to high traffic intensity. From March 9 to 22, 5,906 square meters of defects were eliminated on the federal highways M-7 "Volga," R-177 "Povetluzhye," and R-158 Nizhny Novgorod — Saratov within the Nizhny Novgorod region. For this, 480 tons of hot, cast, and cold asphalt, as well as 114 tons of crushed stone and asphalt granulate, were used. On the section of the M-7 "Volga" highway from the 340th to the 399th km in the Volodarsky district and the city district of Dzerzhinsk, 964 square meters of damage were eliminated. On the bypass of Nizhny Novgorod (km 399 — km 430), 815 square meters of the surface were repaired. In the Kstovsky, Lyskovsky, and Vorotynsky districts, 1,992 square meters of defects were eliminated on the section from km 447 to km 563. On the R-158 Nizhny Novgorod — Saratov highway within the region, 1,991 square meters of surface were restored, and on the R-177 "Povetluzhye" — 145 square meters.
