The Investigative Committee began an inspection after snow fell from the roof of a house in Semyonov.

      March 23, 2026 14:36 Incidents A procedural check has been organized in the Nizhny Novgorod region following the emergence of information on social media about snow falling from the roof of an apartment building. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

      Recall that the incident occurred on March 21 in Semyonov near a residential building on Chkalov Street. A mass of snow fell from the roof of the building. At that moment, a woman was at the entrance — she was sitting on a bench and feeding cats.

      Judging by the published video, the animals suddenly ran in different directions, and a second later, an "avalanche" of snow fell from the roof. The woman was unharmed and did not move from her spot.

      According to available information, one of the cats was under the snow — the snow mass collapsed right on top of it.

      In this regard, an investigator from the Semyonov interdistrict investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region is conducting a procedural check under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements for the life and health of consumers."

      Currently, the Investigative Committee staff are carrying out a range of activities to establish all the circumstances of the incident. Based on the results of the check, a procedural decision will be made, and the issue of preventive measures will also be considered.
