Additional funds are directed to priority areas for Nizhny Novgorod.

      The deputies approved an increase in the revenue and expenditure parts of the budget of Nizhny Novgorod by more than 2 billion rubles. The adjustment of the city budget was approved by the deputies at the regular meeting of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma chaired by Evgeny Chintsov on March 23. The revenue and expenditure parts of the budget for 2026 have been increased by 2.075 billion rubles. Funds in the amount of 664 million rubles have also been redistributed, including savings on servicing municipal debt. According to the director of the finance department, Yuri Mochalkin, the changes are due to the growth of the city's own revenues, the receipt of inter-budget transfers, item-by-item redistribution of funds, and the resulting savings. It is planned to allocate 1.122 billion rubles for the creation of a terraced park in the Pochainsky ravine, 682 million rubles for the reconstruction of Plotnichny Lane and Ilyinskaya Street, 500 million rubles for the repair and maintenance of roads, and 143 million rubles for the design, implementation, and maintenance of intelligent transport systems. In addition, funds in the amount of 40 million rubles have been allocated for a subsidy to the MP "Nizhny Novgorod Metro," 37 million rubles for physical security of kindergartens, 23.1 million rubles for the payment of buyout costs during the resettlement of citizens, 20.6 million rubles for the extension of work on the metro extension, and 18 million rubles for the capital repair of the Central Children's Library named after V.S. Ryzhakov in the Kstovo district as part of creating a model library based on it. The updated budget parameters will be: revenues - 78.743 billion rubles, expenditures - 81.791 billion rubles, deficit - 3.048 billion rubles. "Additional funds are directed to priority areas for Nizhny Novgorod - roads, landscaping, metro, resettlement of dilapidated and emergency housing. Such adjustments are always welcomed by us, the deputies, as they are aimed at the development of the city and solving pressing issues for residents," noted Evgeny Chintsov.
