      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, an attempt to scale up the illegal distribution of questionable meat products in the consumer market has been thwarted. The regional office of the Rosselkhoznadzor recorded unauthorized access to the federal system "VetIS," through which the perpetrators attempted to "legalize" more than 16 tons of frozen boneless beef.

      The scheme was meticulously planned: data was entered into the database on behalf of the company "Agrobusiness," using a fictitious veterinarian as cover. According to the fake documents, the meat allegedly came from the sites of the Gaginsky, Pilninsky, Sechenovsky, and Krasnooktyabrsky districts. However, an inspection revealed that the specified specialist had never worked in the state veterinary service of the region, and the producing enterprises had not released such products.

      The traces of the "meat phantom" led beyond the region: the supplier of the raw materials was an organization from the Kaluga region. It turned out that this entrepreneur had long ceased operations, which ultimately confirmed the criminal nature of the transaction. Inspectors promptly canceled the fake account and all conducted transactions, preventing the meat from reaching store shelves.

      Materials regarding the cyber breach and document forgery have already been forwarded to law enforcement agencies. The police will need to determine who exactly was behind the attempt to register 16 tons of beef of unknown quality and where the dangerous cargo was actually intended to be supplied.
