According to Sergey Razzhivin, the director of the Main Department of Capital Construction of Nizhny Novgorod, the contractor is currently working on the interior finishing of the premises. Parquet flooring is being laid, doors are being restored and installed, and materials for gilding decorative elements of the interior have been prepared. The restoration of the historic mansion has been ongoing since 2019 and has been suspended several times during this period. During the work, the building experienced a fire and a change of contractors, which significantly affected the timeline for completing the project. According to Razzhivin, the current schedule provides for the completion of repair and restoration work by the summer of 2026. After that, the museum plans to launch its first exhibition and begin a phased opening of the updated space for visitors. The Burmistrova House is one of the significant architectural and cultural landmarks of Nizhny Novgorod. Completing its restoration will allow residents and tourists to regain access to one of the key literary museums in the region.
