The project not only standardizes the requirements for awarding the title but also preserves the rights and payments for individuals previously awarded the titles of "Honorary Veteran of the City of Nizhny Novgorod," "Honorary Veteran of the Kstovo Municipal District," and "Honorary Veteran of the Kstovo District." "Last year, several important decisions were made to extend the existing social support measures in Nizhny Novgorod to residents of the Kstovo district. I believe it would be fair to preserve the experience of Kstovo residents in providing benefits to veterans who have most actively contributed to the development of the district. This is enshrined in the draft document that we recommended adopting at the upcoming Duma meeting," shared Inna Vankina. The commission members also supported the proposal to supplement the Program for the Comprehensive Development of Social Infrastructure in Nizhny Novgorod. The adjustment provides for the construction by 2030 of a new building for school No. 167, designed for 450 students, within the boundaries of Osipenko, Elektrovoznaya, and Raketnaya streets in the Kanavinsky district. Additionally, the commission members heard reports from the relevant departments of the city administration on the results of the charity festival "Gorky Christmas Tree" and other New Year events during the holiday period. According to the city department of education, 3,147 New Year performances were held in kindergartens for 67,471 children. In schools and additional education institutions, there were 830 New Year events for more than 137,000 children. According to the city department of culture, over 475 events were held in theaters, libraries, community centers, municipal cultural centers, and cinemas during the New Year and Christmas holidays, attended by more than 50,000 people. As part of the charity festival "Gorky Christmas Tree," 75 charitable New Year performances were organized for 3,500 children from large and low-income families, children with disabilities, orphans, foster children, and children from families whose parents are participating in the Special Military Operation. The festival locations on Theater Square were visited by about 350,000 people. "The festival 'Gorky Christmas Tree' is becoming an increasingly recognizable brand of Nizhny Novgorod. The organizers are constantly coming up with something new and interesting for the residents of Nizhny Novgorod and guests of the city, changing locations and introducing new activities. We hear positive feedback and see for ourselves that this is interesting to people. A 100% coverage of children by New Year events means that we are moving in the right direction," noted Inna Vankina.
