      In the Nizhny Novgorod quarter of the Church of the Three Saints, a large winter festival "Festival of Light. The Warmth of Family Stories" has concluded, which took place from December 20 to January 12. During this time, the total tourist flow in the quarter exceeded 20,000 people. The program, based on traditions from the late 19th to early 20th century, helped Nizhny Novgorod residents and city guests immerse themselves in the atmosphere of ancient winter holidays. The festive decoration of the quarter also contributed to the creation of a special atmosphere. The gardens and facades of historic houses were illuminated with magical lights, Christmas decorations appeared on windows and entrances, and in the very center of the quarter, at the cultural center "Korolenko, 18", guests were greeted by the main Christmas tree, decorated in the spirit of the 19th century.

      "We prepared a rich festival program for Nizhny Novgorod residents and city guests, which included gastronomic evenings, themed excursions, a fair in a mansion from the early 20th century, interactive children's Christmas trees 'Winter Tale: A Christmas Adventure in the House of Okhotin', and Christmas traditions. Our programs are an immersion into the era through archival materials, stories of the quarter's residents from the past, author's treats, historical interiors, and the warm atmosphere created by the hosts and the guests themselves," noted the head of "Protected Quarters," Nina Ershova.

      As part of the festival, 115 events took place. More than 1,000 people walked the evening Light Route with festive illumination and a free audio performance "Return Home." For family audiences, interactive excursions "What Happened to Fanechka?" were organized in the Studyon Quarter. The "Christmas Fair" in the Gusev mansion, where three dozen craftsmen presented their products, was visited by over 2,000 guests. About 100 spectators attended the Puppet Theater at the cultural center "Korolenko, 18." Another 400 people participated in the traditional street caroling with tea by the samovar on January 8. "The winter festival in the Protected Quarters is a good tradition that creates a special, warm festive atmosphere in the 'heart' of the city every year. Decorating the quarter with New Year's decor and festive illumination is not just design, but the creation of a whole world that one wants to return to and stroll with family. This year, the quarter was adorned with 200 miniature Christmas trees, as well as an authentic straw nativity scene in the garden of the house at Korolenko, 17. We did not forget about the more intimate, but beloved by Nizhny Novgorod residents, Studyon Quarter. We decorated the recently restored brick fence with a forged grille — a cultural heritage site. Nizhny Novgorod residents and city guests enjoyed spending time in our shining streets, taking photos at light installations and authentic photo zones. The lively, joyful emotions of thousands of people are the best reward for our work!" emphasized the general director of ANO "ASIRIS," Ekaterina Kryunas.

      Reference: "Protected Quarters" is a project aimed at reviving historical territories, with the goal of preserving and transforming the wooden construction quarters of Nizhny Novgorod into public and cultural spaces. Since 2021, the team of the autonomous non-profit organization "Agency for the Preservation and Development of Historical Environment Objects of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" (ANO "ASIRIS") has been implementing the development concept of the quarter of the Church of the Three Saints. The quarter consists of 28 wooden houses with unique architecture, where Gorky and Korolenko lived, Shalyapin sang, and Chekhov visited.
