The State Housing Inspectorate of the Nizhny Novgorod region identified over 1,100 violations of snow removal.

      During the New Year holidays, employees of the State Housing Inspection of the Nizhny Novgorod region identified more than 1,100 violations related to the untimely clearing of adjacent territories from snow and ice. Since the beginning of the year, inspectors have checked over 2,500 yards and roofs of apartment buildings. Violations of snow removal were recorded in 758 yards, and the presence of icicles and snow overhangs was noted on 373 roofs. Most of the violations have been rectified, and measures of administrative impact have been taken regarding the others. On January 14, specialists from the State Housing Inspection checked the cleaning of the adjacent territory of houses No. 9 and No. 10 on Usilova Street in Nizhny Novgorod. The inspection was prompted by complaints from residents received through social networks. According to Dmitry Vizhukhov, the deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod mountain department of the State Housing Inspection, the inspection monitors the quality of work by management companies in clearing territories after snowfalls. Cleaning is carried out both manually and using machinery. Complaints from social networks are processed in a working manner, and information is forwarded to management organizations and homeowners' associations. In the absence of a response, inspections are organized with possible administrative liability. Currently, inspections have been organized regarding 109 management companies, homeowners' associations, and housing cooperatives. The State Housing Inspection reminds residents that in case of unsatisfactory conditions of roofs and adjacent territories, they should first contact their management company. If there is no response, complaints should be sent to the State Housing Inspection.
