Gorky's volleyball players lost in straight sets to Orenburzhye.

      Volleyball club "Gorky" suffered its third consecutive defeat. On January 12 in Orenburg the Nizhny Novgorod side lost to "Orenburzhye" by a score of 0:3.

      This is already Gorky's second defeat to the Orenburg team this season. Despite a tough fight in the first and third sets, the visitors could not close out their opponents in the ends of the sets.

      Gorky's captain Alexander Pyatyrkin commented on the setback: "Our game absolutely didn't come together. The first and third sets were played more or less even. It is what it is. Most likely we couldn't handle the attack. We failed to finish many attacks and didn't convert. The opponent played well in defense, so that's the result on the scoreboard."

      Head coach Andrey Dranishnikov also expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of officiating in this match.

      After this defeat Gorky remains in 11th place in the standings with 18 points.

      The Nizhny Novgorod side will play their next match (6+) on January 17 at home against "Fakel-Yamal".
