Insurance pensions increased by 7.6% in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Since the beginning of 2026, a scheduled indexation of insurance pensions has been carried out in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the regional office of the SFR, payments were indexed by 7.6%.

      The increase affected both non-working pensioners and those who continue to work. Disability pensions and survivors' pensions were also increased.

      In addition to the base pension amount, the value of the pension coefficient has risen. From January 1, 2026, one point is valued at 156.76 rubles. The fixed payment to the insurance pension has also been increased — it now amounts to 9,584.69 rubles. This part of the pension is guaranteed and is also indexed.

      An additional increase was applied to the care allowance for citizens over 80 and for people with a Group I disability.

      It is important to note that the indexation is carried out automatically. Recipients do not need to submit an application or contact Social Fund offices.

      Some pensioners whose payments are scheduled during the New Year holidays have already received the indexed amounts early — they were transferred to bank cards in December. The rest will receive the updated payments on the usual dates.

      In total, more than 890,000 people in the region will receive increased pensions. Of these, over 104,000 are recipients of insurance pensions who have turned 80.

      It was previously reported that the new conditions for awarding the old-age insurance pension came into force in the Nizhny Novgorod region at the beginning of 2026.
