The Torpedo-Gorky goalkeeper Dagestansky scored a goal at the Euro-Asian Friendship Cup.

      In Minsk from January 10 to 11 the final stage of the Euro-Asian Friendship Cup is taking place, featuring the strongest teams of the season. Competing for the trophy are the champions of the VHL and the Belarusian Extraleague — "Torpedo-Gorky" from Nizhny Novgorod and "Yunost-Minsk" from Minsk — as well as two teams that successfully passed the qualifying stage: "Khimik" from Voskresensk and "Vitebsk" from Vitebsk.

      On Saturday, January 10, the first matches will take place: "Torpedo-Gorky" vs. "Khimik" and "Yunost-Minsk" vs. "Vitebsk". On Sunday, January 11, spectators will see two exciting contests: the third-place game and the final, which will determine the tournament winner.

      In its first Cup match, "Torpedo-Gorky" scored three unanswered goals against "Khimik" and advanced to the final. Forwards Roman Opalev and Artyom Misnikov were among the scorers.

      Moreover, a unique event occurred during the match: for the first time in the history of the Euro-Asian Friendship Cup a goaltender's goal was recorded. The third goal for the Gorky side was credited to goaltender Dmitry Dagestansky, who also recorded a shutout.

      Thus, the reigning VHL champion advanced to the Cup final.
