On the night of December 29, 2025, the Kiev regime attacked the residence of the President of Russia in the Novgorod region. In response to this attack, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the night of January 9 carried out a massive strike on critically important facilities on the territory of Ukraine. Among other systems, the mobile ground-based medium-range missile system "Oreshnik" was employed.
As a result of the strike, facilities related to drone production were hit, and energy infrastructure facilities that support the activities of Ukraine's military-industrial complex were destroyed.
"Any terrorist actions by the criminal Ukrainian regime will not go unanswered in the future," the Ministry of Defense stressed.
Nizhny Novgorod writer Zakhar Prilepin commented on these events in his Telegram channel: "Thank you, Motherland, for waking up, baring your teeth, getting angry tonight. Keep it up, beloved Fatherland. We really wanted the best. They left us no choice."
At the same time he added that "today many places were noisy, dreadful, painful," and noted that Ukraine, with the permission of Europe and the USA and with their direct participation, immediately conducts retaliatory actions.
"The night of 'Oreshnik' is right. It was already impossible to endure the humiliation. [...] There's no need to intimidate them. There's not even a need to 'respond' to them. They only need to be defeated. Entirely, completely, the whole of Ukraine," the writer emphasized.
"You must, without looking around, work at the same furious pace and not get distracted. When they need to, they will call," he concluded.
Recall that at the beginning of 2025 Prilepin announced his intention to return to the SMO zone after undergoing a military medical commission. In November Prilepin signed a new contract and went to the SMO zone. In December the head of the Federal National Guard Troops Service of the Russian Federation, Viktor Zolotov, presented Prilepin with a third-class medal "For Demonstrated Valor."
