      Applications are now open for the second international young artists’ competition "Picture of the World," which is aimed at participants aged 18 to 35. The competition is held with the aim of preserving the country's cultural characteristics through art and identifying talented representatives of the creative youth. It is organized by the non-governmental development institute Innopraktika with the support of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, jointly with the State Tretyakov Gallery and the Ilya Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. The uniqueness of the competition lies in its accessibility—any artist aged 18 to 35, regardless of level of training or place of residence, can apply.

      The theme of the second International Young Artists’ Competition "Picture of the World" is: "The Values of My People as Part of the Global Culture of Humanity." Through their works, participants will be able to show how the history and traditions of their people influence contemporary art. The competition is intended to become a bridge between tradition and modernity, past and future, creating a space for cultural exchange and interaction. Young artists will present their works on significant social, cultural and philosophical topics.

      Applications are accepted in three categories: Graphics, Painting and Digital Art. In addition, the competition includes a special category dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the Tretyakov Gallery.

      Applications for the second international young artists’ competition "Picture of the World" are being accepted until February 2, 2026 on the official website: https://kartinamira.art/. By February 20, 2026 the competition’s expert council will select the 100 best applications. The creative council will then determine the 50 works that make the shortlist, and finally, in the third stage, 14 finalists will be chosen who will be able to exhibit their works at the branch of the Tretyakov Gallery in Samara. The awarding of the finalists and the opening of the final exhibition of the winning works will take place at the Tretyakov Gallery branch in Samara in June 2026.

      As a reminder, within the framework of the first young artists’ competition "Picture of the World" the organizers received 1,447 original works from artists from 65 countries. The solemn award ceremony for the 14 finalists of the first competition took place on June 15 in Kaliningrad as part of the V International Festival of Classical Music "Cantata." The finalists’ exhibition was presented at the Tretyakov Gallery branch in June–July 2025. Over the month the exhibition was open, it was visited by more than 50,000 people.
