A surgeon told residents of Nizhny Novgorod how to avoid tragedies during plastic surgery.
06 January 2026 09:37 Society — Nizhny Novgorod plastic surgeon Nadezhda Rozhdestvenskaya commented on the tragic death of a blogger during plastic surgery in Moscow and explained how such cases can be prevented. Her words are quoted by MIA "Stacionar-press" editor-in-chief Alexey Nikonov on his Telegram channel.
According to her, one of the main causes of complications is insufficient preoperative examination. She noted that many patients consciously choose clinics that require a minimum of tests, which saves time and money. However, such a decision can lead to serious consequences, including death.
Rozhdestvenskaya emphasized that a clear protocol for preparing for operations has long been developed within the professional community of plastic surgeons in Russia. It includes an electrocardiogram, heart ultrasound, examination of the veins of the lower extremities for thrombosis, biochemical blood tests and mandatory determination of blood type.
"The goal is one: to prevent any health problems. Sometimes at the examination stage the surgical plan has to be changed, or even the operation cancelled entirely, in order to preserve the patient's life and health," the doctor said.
She also added that in recent years serious complications in aesthetic surgery have become rare, but each such case causes a wide public resonance and reminds people of the importance of complying with medical standards.
