Nizhny Novgorod residents were urged to report violations to the forestry dispatch service.

      During 2025 the regional forestry dispatch service of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast received 176 inquiries from residents, the regional Ministry of Forestry reported.

      As the agency noted, with the launch of the Federal State Information System of the Forest Complex (FGIS LK) the nature of the inquiries changed. The majority (90) were requests for consultations. Citizens were actively interested in the capabilities of FGIS LK, the Unified State Automated Information System and other digital platforms. The Ministry believes this trend indicates a growing public interest in issues of rational forest use.

      At the same time, the dispatch service continues to respond promptly to reports of possible violations. Over the year there were 12 inquiries concerning forest use, 29 reports of fires in forests, three reports of unauthorized dumps within the forest fund and 34 reports of alleged illegal logging. For each such report, state forest inspectors travel to the site to check and take measures.

      The dispatch service operates around the clock. It processes video monitoring data, keeps records of fires, informs the public and emergency services about fire hazards, and coordinates the work of forestry departments in protecting forests from fire.

      The Ministry reminded that if cases of violations of forest legislation become known, they can be reported to the regional dispatch service by phone at 8 (831) 430-01-23.
