Widespread problems with excess weight were identified among residents of Dzerzhinsk.

      The results of the medical screenings undergone by residents in 2025 were summed up at the outpatient clinics of Dzerzhinsk City Hospital No. 2.

      According to the Telegram channel "Bokal Presseka", a total of 41,292 people were examined. Based on the examinations, specialists recorded an alarming picture. Oncological diseases were newly diagnosed in 129 townspeople. In 89 of those cases the cancer was detected at early stages, which increases the chances of successful treatment.

      Doctors were seriously concerned by the data on body weight. Problems with excess weight were recorded in 28,594 people. The main cause is cited as poor diet.

      In addition, 10,000 of those examined were found to have high cholesterol levels, and 2,355 had elevated blood glucose concentrations.

      Diabetes was newly diagnosed in 137 people, and glaucoma was detected in 112 patients. Heart and vascular diseases were identified in 842 residents.

      A total of 8,258 people were recognized as completely healthy.

      Earlier it was reported that the Russian analogue of "Ozempic" has become cheaper in Nizhny Novgorod pharmacies. Also, it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod residents with obesity will be required to undergo lifelong medical supervision.
