A firework caused a fire in an apartment of a residential building in Dzerzhinsk, witnesses reported on social media.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred on the night of January 4 at Privokzalnaya Square. Residents said the firework entered through a window, exploded under the ceiling and caused a fire inside the apartment.
According to witnesses, there were no injuries.
Recall that a special fire-prevention regime is in effect in the Nizhny Novgorod region until January 11, 2026. During this period it is forbidden to set off fireworks in the courtyards of residential buildings in order to avoid incidents like the one in Dzerzhinsk.
At the same time, special sites have been designated in the regional center where setting off fireworks is legally permitted. Experts previously gave recommendations on how to handle pyrotechnics.
