In 2026, residents of Russia, including those in Nizhny Novgorod, will have 118 days off and public holidays. Thus, nearly a third of the year will be devoted to rest, Presidential Academy expert Tatyana Podolskaya told TASS.

According to her, the total number of working days in the calendar will be 247. That is 2.1 times more than the number of days of rest.

The Russian Labor Code establishes 14 official holidays. If any of them falls on a day off, the non-working day is moved to the nearest weekday, which helps maintain the overall balance between work and rest throughout the year.
