The subsistence minimum rose in the Nizhny Novgorod Region at the beginning of 2026.

      From 2026, the subsistence minimum amounts in the Nizhny Novgorod Region have changed, reports "Komsomolskaya Pravda - Nizhny Novgorod".

      According to the decree posted on the official legal portal, the average subsistence minimum per capita now stands at 17,803 rubles. This is 1,134 rubles more compared with the previous figure, which was set at 16,669 rubles.

      The subsistence minimum is differentiated across the main social groups. For the working population it is set at 19,405 rubles. For children — 17,269 rubles. Pensioners, according to the new procedure, are entitled to 15,311 rubles.

      All values are fixed for 2026 and will be used in calculating various social payments and benefits in the region.

      Recall that since the beginning of the year the minimum wage (MROT) in Russia has risen by more than 20%. It now amounts to 27,093 rubles.
