      In Nizhny Novgorod the design of the first apartment building that will become part of a new residential complex was approved. This complex will be built in the Leninsky District, near the Karpovskaya Church. The architectural and urban appearance of the building, located on Shakespeare Street, was approved by an order of the regional Ministry of Construction dated December 26. The project is being carried out by LLC "Specialized Developer 'STEKOM'", according to "NIA Nizhny Novgorod". The first building, referred to in the documents as No. 1, will have 23 floors. It will also include integrated spaces for public use. The total area of this building will be 16,504.2 square meters, of which 755 square meters is the building footprint. The land plot allocated for the construction of this building occupies 8,913 square meters.

      This starter building is part of a large residential complex planned to be built in eight phases. At the initial stage, in addition to the residential building, the construction of a transformer substation and local treatment facilities is planned.

      The project foresees the construction of six multi-storey buildings. Each will provide 11.5 thousand square meters of residential space. The new microdistrict will also be equipped with a kindergarten for 130 places, a school for 550 pupils and a polyclinic capable of receiving up to 150 patients a day. In addition, the plans include the construction of two hotels with 100 rooms each, two public-purpose buildings with underground parking, as well as a sports club and storage facilities.

      The site for the future microdistrict is located where houses previously stood on Shakespeare Street, with the numbers: 18, 16, 14, 12a, 2a, 1a, 1v, 12e and 121b. These former buildings are subject to demolition, and their residents will be resettled. During the development of this area, the renewal of Shakespeare, Geroi Popov and Suzdalskaya streets is planned. Courtyard areas and public spaces will also be refurbished, new pedestrian zones will be arranged, as well as play areas for children and sports grounds.

      Recall that on December 20, 2025, Nizhny Novgorod had already approved the exterior of an apartment building planned in the Leninsky District as part of the comprehensive territory development program. This building, located between Druzhby, Snezhnaya and Entuziastov streets and the Rzhavka River, is part of the first phase of the KRT project and was developed by LLC "SZ 'Proekt-S-35'".
