More than 500 New Year’s gifts were delivered to the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital. Sweet sets as well as toys, educational games and stationery were collected for the children. The collection was held as part of the charitable campaign “Box of Joy,” aimed at supporting children who remained in hospital during the New Year holidays.
“Each of us dreams of celebrating the New Year surrounded by family and loved ones. It is a time when one especially wants to feel the warmth and support of loved ones. But, unfortunately, life sometimes unfolds so that not everyone can be with their family. May our small gifts become a little source of warmth and joy for the children who find themselves far from home on New Year’s Eve. I wish everyone health and well-being, happy New Year,” said Yury Balashov, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, secretary of the local branch of the United Russia party in the Sovetsky District, and regional coordinator of the party project “Healthy Future.”
Chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma Evgeny Chintsov also handed over Christmas tree decorations made by participants of the “Gorky Toy” contest.
“In the run-up to the New Year — the main and most beloved holiday of childhood, especially important for those who are now fighting illness — a wonderful campaign called ‘Box of Joy’ is held. With its help, adults try to give children a bit of warmth, belief in miracles and hope for a speedy recovery and return home. Boundless gratitude to the doctors and nurses who remain on duty on New Year’s Eve! I wish them and their families happiness, health and well-being!” said Evgeny Chintsov, chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma.
Deputies and activists of United Russia also presented New Year’s gifts to hospital staff who remained on duty during the New Year holidays.
“When children spend New Year in the hospital, the feeling of magic is especially important to them. Such campaigns help give the children a festive mood. These gifts are not only a reward for bravery, but also an incentive to recover. But adults await magic too. It is very pleasant that gifts are also given to our doctors who remained on duty on New Year’s Eve. This proves that our work is valued and important. Many thanks to United Russia and everyone who joined this campaign,” said Svetlana Belozerova, chief physician of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital.
“Box of Joy” is an opportunity to support young patients and thank doctors for their work. Caring for the health and well‑being of children is an important part of the United Russia party’s people’s program.
