The Transport Prosecutor's Office is monitoring flight delays at Nizhny Novgorod Airport.

      Flight delays occurred at the airports of Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Kazan and Ufa on 27 and 28 December due to restrictions on the use of airspace.

      The Privolzhskaya Transport Prosecutor's Office is monitoring that passengers' rights are respected. Special reception points have been set up in the airports to receive appeals from passengers so that arising issues can be resolved promptly.

      In the event of a flight delay, passengers are entitled to a package of services provided for by federal aviation regulations. This includes free meals and beverages, hotel accommodation, as well as compensation for the inconvenience caused.

      Transport prosecutor staff are conducting inspections and taking measures to protect passengers' rights.

      Note that some passengers whose flights had to land in Nizhny Novgorod as a diversion were taken to Moscow by buses.

      In addition, one Nizhny Novgorod flight to Saint Petersburg operated by Smartavia, 5N 1510, has been delayed, provisionally to 17:45. UTair flight UT 296 "Surgut — Moscow" is already being prepared for departure to Vnukovo. The delayed Aeroflot flight SU 295 "Nha Trang — Moscow" has already departed for the capital.
