      The FSB released operational footage featuring the former governor of Tambov Oblast, Nizhny Novgorod native Maxim Yegorov. The arrest of the former official took place back in the summer of 2025. However, details only emerged on December 29.

      The published footage shows security officers surprising the Nizhny Novgorod native in his lavish cottage. He didn’t even have time to get dressed. Searches were conducted at the residence of the person implicated in the criminal case.

      Yegorov is accused of receiving bribes totaling 84 million rubles. Assets belonging to the ex-governor’s relatives have been seized.

      Earlier it was reported that the brother of former deputy head of Nizhny Novgorod Ilya Shtokman was detained; he is accused of accepting a multimillion-ruble bribe.
