Traffic in central Nizhny Novgorod will be temporarily restricted due to holiday events, the city administration said.
From 17:00 on 31 December 2025 until 09:00 on 1 January 2026, passage through Minin and Pozharsky Square will be closed on the section from Verkhnevolzhskaya Embankment to Minin Street.
The restrictions are related to New Year’s events at the city’s main Christmas tree. Detour routes will be arranged for motorists along nearby streets.
Drivers are asked to remove their private vehicles from the restricted area in advance. Vehicles left within the restricted area will be forcibly towed to impound lots.
Officials urge drivers to comply with traffic rules and pay attention to temporary signs and indicators.
Earlier, it was reported that public transport service in Nizhny Novgorod will be extended on 1 January.
