By the New Year, 189 Nizhny Novgorod families from unsafe buildings are moving into a new municipal building.

      By the New Year, residents of Nizhny Novgorod who previously lived in unsafe (dilapidated) houses have begun relocating to a new municipal building on Zaitseva Street. This is a modern ten-story building containing 189 apartments of various sizes: from one-room flats to spacious four-room apartments. This was reported by the mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev. All apartments already have finished interiors and installed plumbing, so the owners can move in and settle immediately without spending time or money on renovations. A children’s playground, a sports area and a parking lot for cars were installed in the yard.

      This building became the second municipal building constructed this year under the new program for resettling residents from emergency housing. The first such building is on Sadovaya Street; residents of Nizhny Novgorod are already moving there as well.

      Work is now nearing completion on another building on 40 Let Pobedy Street. It is planned to be commissioned next year, after which even more families who have long awaited relocation from dilapidated houses will be able to move into the new apartments.
