Inflation fell to 7.4% in the Nizhny Novgorod Region in November.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, as of the end of November 2025, price growth slowed to 6.5%, which was the lowest rate among all regions of the district and was below the national level (6.6%). This was reported by the press service of the Volga‑Vyatka Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia.

      Overall in the Volga Federal District, inflation also continued to decline in November 2025 and amounted to 7.4%.

      A comparison with October showed that in 11 regions of the Volga Federal District the pace of price growth for goods and services slowed, including in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Non‑food goods showed restrained dynamics in November. Across the district they rose moderately, and in the Nizhny Novgorod region they even fell slightly. This was influenced by a drop in gasoline prices caused by increased production volumes and the end of the agricultural season, which reduced consumer demand. Prices also fell for electronics and household appliances — televisions, smartphones, computers.

      Food prices rose over the month, especially for vegetables. At the same time, the decline in the price of sugar continued. This is due to the arrival of the new sugar beet harvest and increased production. In the Nizhny Novgorod region the decline in sugar prices was more pronounced than the national average, thanks to a significant increase in processing volumes in the region.

      Services in November rose less noticeably than food prices. At the same time there was a fall in the cost of foreign tourism services, aided by the strengthening of the ruble. This trend also manifested in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      A decline in annual inflation was recorded in all regions of the Volga Federal District. According to the Central Bank's forecast, inflation will fall to 4–5% in 2026 and stabilize at the target level of 4% starting in 2027.

      Recall that, based on the results of October 2025, inflation in the Nizhny Novgorod region also decreased.
