The head of the Ministry of Health urged Nizhny Novgorod residents to have their health checked during the holidays.

      The New Year holidays are a suitable time to undergo medical screenings without rushing or having to ask for time off work. During the holidays, medical institutions in the Nizhny Novgorod region will operate on a special schedule.

      This was announced following a meeting between the region's Minister of Health, Galina Mikhaylova, and healthcare workers.

      "Throughout the New Year holidays our clinics will operate in a special mode; there will be an opportunity to undergo medical screenings. I urge all Nizhny Novgorod residents to pay attention to their health," said the head of the regional health ministry, Galina Mikhaylova, following the meeting with medical staff, the Telegram channel "Bokal presseka" reports.

      It is noted that residents' interest in preventive examinations continues to grow. More than 2 million people underwent medical screenings in the past year.

      The "night" screening format proved particularly popular, including among young people. The pilot project showed high demand, and starting next year this practice is planned to be implemented in all polyclinics in Nizhny Novgorod.

      It was previously reported that a production pharmacy will open in Nizhny Novgorod in early 2026.
