Gleb Nikitin will fulfill the dreams of children from the Nizhny Novgorod Region and Khartsyzk.

      On December 25, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin, joined the all-Russian "Tree of Wishes" campaign, which took place during a meeting of the State Council at the Kremlin. The regional head took three baubles from the holiday tree containing the wishes of children from the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

      Eleven-year-old David from Nizhny Novgorod dreams of a bicycle. Fourteen-year-old Sergey from Arzamas would like to receive a projector for the New Year, and six-year-old Ilya from Khartsyzsk wished for a "smart" speaker. Gleb Nikitin said he will do everything possible to ensure the children’s dreams are fulfilled in the near future.

      The head of the region emphasized that the campaign is one of the warmest and most joyful events in the pre-New Year period. According to him, the real pleasure lies not in receiving gifts but in the opportunity to give a child a miracle. He also noted that more and more children join the campaign each year.

      "My team and I will do our best to fulfill the children's wishes as soon as possible. The main thing is to dream and believe, and then everything will definitely work out!" said the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      The "Tree of Wishes" campaign is aimed at supporting children who find themselves in difficult life situations and helps create a festive atmosphere for them. Participants in the campaign are children aged 3 to 17 with special health needs or disabilities, with serious illnesses, orphans and children left without parental care, as well as children from families with incomes below the subsistence minimum and from families of participants in the special military operation. Special attention within the project is paid to children from Russia’s new regions and border territories.

      The all-Russian "Tree of Wishes" campaign has been held since 2018. Anyone can visit the project's website, choose a child's profile and help make their dream come true. The campaign provides for three categories of wishes: material, non-material and surprise-gift. Material wishes include developmental aids and books, arts and crafts supplies, musical instruments, sports equipment and gear, toys, as well as clothing and costumes. Non-material wishes involve the opportunity to try out a profession, go on a trip or meet a famous person, for example, a cosmonaut. In addition, participants can choose the surprise-gift format, where the giver selects a present based on the child's interests and hobbies.

      It was previously reported that Nikitin will fulfill the New Year's wishes of the children of a Nizhny Novgorod participant in the special military operation.

      Also, a reminder that in the Nizhny Novgorod Region wishes of women who decided against abortion will be fulfilled.
