The department head of Nizhny Novgorod's "Cadastral Valuation" will be convicted of fraud.

      A criminal case is being heard in the Avtozavodsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod against the former head of the legal department of the State Budgetary Institution of the Nizhny Novgorod Region "Cadastral Valuation," the court press service reported.

      The woman is accused of fraud committed using her official position (Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

      According to the investigation, from March to September 2023 the defendant, while holding a government position, misled representatives of a commercial company. She convinced them that it was possible to set the cadastral value of a land plot at market level, which does not correspond to the procedures in force.

      For her "services" the official demanded that 80,000 rubles be transferred to her bank account. She used the received money at her own discretion.

      The defendant denies the charges. As a preventive measure she has been placed under a written undertaking not to leave the area and to observe proper conduct.

      Earlier it was reported that a swindler from Moscow registered fictitious children in various regions of Russia, including Nizhny Novgorod, in order to receive payments.
